The textbook definition of marketing has always left something to be desired for me. But, then again, I guess it depends on which textbook you consult. In my everyday world, people often use the term of marketing when they really mean sales, maybe because it sounds more important or smarter than sales. As we all know, it's really much different in that marketing deals with anticipating the desires of large numbers of people. BIG IDEAS are marketing's true hallmark.
